Where's the fun?

wheres the fun

We're lucky. We work in a really fun industry.

Imagine if your job was something like promoting toilet rolls? Or making and selling widgets? Dull!

The tourism industry is all about enjoyment, fun, uplifting moments.

So why is so much tourism marketing bland and boring?

We need to be better at talking about the joy, the sense of discovery, the playful moments, the happy days, the unforgettable experiences, the laughter, the small adventures we can offer.

How could you do that for your business?

Researchers recently found that the main reason people are going to the theatre right now is because they want fun and entertainment. At the moment they're less interested in being educated, or seeing something that gives a different view of a tricky situation or a commentary on difficult events.

They want fun and entertainment. They want to be uplifted. Not really surprising?

The same must surely be true of our own industry: it's all about fun and pleasure.

So instant of bland messages that say, 'come here, stay here, visit, explore' etc... perhaps it's time to paint a stronger picture of what fun and enjoyment really feel like, and how you can offer it?

Conjure up a picture of an experience or stay that feels fun, entertaining and uplifting and you'll find it much easier to attract visitors.

It's not your prices

Yes! Yes! Yes! We have so much to be happy about, and guests seem happy, too.
