Do you love... potatoes, beaches, knitting?

do you love

Do you love… walking, potatoes, knitting, dogs, trees, beaches, scones?

It doesn’t matter what it is, someone loves it. Which makes for powerful marketing and happy people.

If you lead a website or blog heading, mailing or social media post with something that people love, they pay attention. You’re talking about something they’re interested in. You might be about to give them an idea that will make them extra happy.

Most businesses don’t match what they offer to what others love.

Passion + product = powerful

I sometimes drive by a shop that sells personalised dog blankets, beds and leads, with a few dog food treats. From the outside it looks quite bland. Their social media is focused on the products they sell, which look a bit lifeless when just photographed like catalogue products. I rarely see anyone going in.

Earlier this week I saw two dogs pawing at the shop door. They obviously knew about the food treats inside. And suddenly the shop came alive in my head. Enthusiastic dogs queueing at the door, showing their owners how to make them happy.

Dog owners love dogs. Dogs love treats.

Imagine what would happen if they showed photos of different dogs queueing at the door, or snuggled on the blankets, or happy dog faces gazing at the treats… A completely different feel, focused on humans loving dogs, dogs loving treats and cuddles.

What do visitors love about your area or business? What hobbies, interests or passions might they have?

A simple header such as 'love the challenge of cycling up hills like this?' + photo + why your business is relevant will instantly grab the attention of hardy cyclists in a way that 'facilities' never will.

It needs to be quite specific so if you’re tempted to say something like the views, edit to talk about what the view is, and how relaxing it feels to see sunrise there. The more you can build enthusiasm for something quite specific, the better.
