Keep your business on track

On track

Imagine you’re going for a walk in an unknown place. The directions say to follow a compass bearing of 90 degrees. You take a path across a field that’s a degree or two off that. It doesn’t seem to make much difference.

You keep walking.

That tiny difference starts to make a bigger difference. At first you’re just a degree or two off course, but over a long distance you veer more and more off the route. Perhaps you even get lost, and struggle to get back on the right track.

That’s what happens with many businesses, and their marketing.

You do something that's not quite right. It sends you off-track or doesn't attract the visitors you want, when you want them.

It do something else to try to make things better, experimenting to try to get your marketing right.

After a while you start to feel overwhelmed, frustrated and confused about what you really need to do.

If you don’t follow the right path, you veer further and further off course. It takes you longer to attract the visitors you want. It can get costly.

Marketing can seem like a lot of trial and error but it shouldn't do.

There’s a clear course you could chart to success, working on small but essential actions. Easy actions: some are even enjoyable...

When they're the right ones, the small actions compound. They add up to something that really works, that feels almost effortless.

When you know the right small actions to take, it's easy to repeat them. You feel more motivated because they work.

Marketing goes from a shadowy "I should do something, but I've no time, hate doing it and it doesn't seem to really work" to "I know what to do next and it's quite easy so I'll just quickly do it".

The key is getting the foundations right. And that's easier than you might think.

It’s much easier to stay on track when you have clear directions to follow.

That’s what the Marketing Action Programme (MAP) is all about:

  • A series of short videos giving you step-by-step explanations for the essential marketing actions you need to take, why, and how
  • 3 live group Zoom calls (re-play available) for you to check understanding, ask questions, get more examples and ideas
  • A supportive online community where you can ask questions, pick up more marketing tips, feel less isolated, stay motivated
  • Templates and check lists to help you put all the marketing tips into action

This isn’t just a marketing course, it’s an impactful, practical programme of actions – with plenty of guidance from me along the way.

You can complete it at your own pace, at any time between 8th October and 12th December. Join the programme by 8th October for maximum benefit

By the end of the programme, you’ll have already started to put ideas into action. You’ll feel clear about how to promote your business, what you need to do to attract the visitors you want – and what you don’t need to bother doing. You’ll feel supported and more confident. And then be able to repeat those steps again and again to build your business and increase revenue without going off course, wasting time or money.

Thank you  for displaying all the views and comments about the proposed Tourism Levy.  It has opened my eyes to all the possible pitfalls of this proposal and I will be joining with others to speak out to ensure that it is fair and manageable; it will be a great burden to small accommodation providers like myself who rely on our income to support our small hill farm.
